Title: South Harlem Avenue Bridge Description: South Harlem Avenue Bridge contract number 2, view looking west showing condition of road along the north bank of the channel from Summit-Lyons Bridge to the north pier. This road has been used by the Ketler-Elliott Company and was repaired considerably with cinders at the time of the start of their job. However, a good deal of hauling both by Ketler-Elliott Company and E. J. Albrecht, contractors for the approaches being built by Cook County, has rendered the road in the condition as shown in the picture This is a spot in the road about 2000 feet west o f the north pier. Bad weather and rain makes this road practically impassable at time, Chicago, Illinois, September 25, 1931 Date Depicted: 1931 September 25 Creator: Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago Creator Role: creator Physical Format: cellulose nitrate film Copyright Notice: © Chicago Historical Society, published on or before 2017, all rights reserved.
