Marshall Field (renamed Stagg Field in 1915) was located north of East 57th Street and east of South Ellis Avenue in the Hyde Park community area of Chicago, Illinois. Johnson's mother was a Stockbridge Indian, and Johnson had played football at Carlisle Indian School before moving to Northwestern.
