Portrait of sculptor Lorado Taft working on a small model of his proposed Midway statue, the Fountain of Creation, in a room in Chicago, Illinois, 1910. The proposed Fountain of Creation was to stand at the opposite end of the Midway from the Fountain of Time, but was not completed. Statues that were completed and were intended for inclusion in the Fountain of Creation were given eventually to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
